Sometimes Things Just Do Not Make Sense

WOW, sometimes things just do not make sense to us. Here we have been working on this adoption for over a year and we are just two weeks from going to Texas to meet our newest little guy. What happens.....things. Just things happen. Seems the right questions were not asked and things are now not adding up the way that they need to add up in order for us to bring him home. Our worker here in Nevada is not happy with the way things are unfolding and he is basically telling us to stop and to see if things will start to make sense to him and to the entire adoption unit really. So here we sit, with a room ready, all things in place, children that are excited about getting a new brother and we are caught in the middle of things that were not asked and things that do not add up. Sometimes things just hurt and do not make sense. Now a little boy may not have a home to come to and a family does not have a new little boy to call their own. This much we do know. God is in control. He has a perfec...

MORE BLESSINGS

Okay, so it took me a few extra days to get this post up and ready for you to read. Sorry about that. I wanted to share with you more about our blessings. Like I stated the other day, this family runs on blessings. People reaching out and meeting needs when we least expect it. Merrill and I are getting ready to go meet our newest child. He is a two year old from Houston Texas. He has had a very rocky start in life and his list of needs is really great. we know that once we get him home things will settle down and it will be okay. Still it is taking a lot of people coming together to get him here. In the mean time his foster mom has stated that one of her biggest concerns is the fact he has outgrown his KidCart. It is like a wheelchair for little people. She told us that he is very uncomfortable because they can't get him into a good position. The reason they have not gone about ordering him one is because he is moving and it takes forever to get one through the system....6 to 8 mon...

BLESSINGS

This family runs on being blessed beyond measure. It amazes me just how many people that the Lord brings to help our family. It is small things, big things even huge things, but always we have what we need and a lot of what we want. My heart is just full beyond measure really. I think of today. Well, it actually started a few days ago when our grand daughters anounced that they were going to see Hannah Montana 3D. I guess I had secretly hoped that they would invite LisaMarie to go with them, but that was not the case. I knew that we would not have time this weekend and then it would be time for school again. Then it happened, before I could even think about it. Char, LisaMarie's mentor called to take LisaMarie to lunch today. This is not all that unusual as Char take LisaMarie several times a month to do all kinds of things. Then, when she arrived, she quietly askes me if it was okay to take LisaMarie to see Hannah Montana 3D. WOW!!!!. So without LisaMarie even knowing what was hap...

Letting Someone Steal My Joy.

Well, it happened, but only for a short time. I let someone whom I felt I respected as a professional person, steal my joy. I let him totally rob me of a wonderful feeling. I am more than sure that you probably do not know what I am talking about so lets just get it all out in the open. You see, I have been on this journey to health now for two and a half years. I nearly died from complications from Weight loss Surgery. I have the most wonderful doctor in the world and when he went in to "fix" the complications saw that I was in really bad shape. He literally saved my life. I paid a huge price, but you can bet I would do it all again. I was in the hospital for three months, had a huge open wound for 22 months till I was healthy enough to have it closed, I was fed through a PICC Line for a full year as I could not eat or drink orally, Merrill took off 9 full months to take care of me and to help me get strong enough to take care of the children. The list of problems was ...

Staying Busy and Having Fun

I just love this time of year. It is no secret that I love, just plain love winter. I love the cold and I love the snow. I love the warm clothes and the many jackets that I have and I love the fireplace and all that goes with winter. This is my most favorite time of the year. Now, that being said, Merrill and I got away for the long three day weekend. We flew out Friday evening and came home late Monday night. We hooked up with some friends and went snowmobile riding. We both had so much fun. Now, I am the first to admit that I get intimidated when I feel I know so little and they know so much. So, what do our friends do, they hook up with the hard core snowmobile junkies and we set out for the day. The mountains were beautiful...what we could see as it was a very cloudy day and the snow was deep. We took to the trail then before I could even get my hands warm with the hand warmers, we were off trail. I have to say, everyone was wonderful to me. They were making sure that I was okay ev...

BRING ON THE SNOW

We love the snow. The more snow the better. Snow just thrills my soul really. No matter where I am, I love snow. I can be depressed and then the snow just lifts me up. I see snow as a gift from above to me. Anyone that knows me know that I hate the heat, but boy howdy do I love the snow. I can only hope and pray that we get more snow :o) I love their snow covered playhouse but the mountains in the back are beautiful. A Llama smiling for the camera....in the snow McClain and Joey looking good in the snow.
