Hi All:
As I write, life has a way of passing by and sometime it is just too busy to get things posted. I hate getting behind because our families follow us here and so I feel like I let them down. Lets just play catch up first.
LisaMarie went on to become a 9 year old while I was not even watching....well, that is not totally true. Her birthday was in the middle of the week so we opted to have her party on the 11 of October. Thank goodness the presents were wrapped, the cake and ice cream taken care of and everything ready, because that morning I woke up to a horrid feeling in my stomach. Lets just say that before the day turned into the evening, I had a bed at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and was being watched to decide if I was going to have surgery.
As things would go, I had surgery on that Monday and was in the hospital for 11 days. I not only missed her party, but Merrill's birthday also. It was a very sad time for me. The up side of it all was that after my three month stay in 2005, I knew so many people there. They took great care of me and helped me stay focused on what it was going to take to get back home.
I am the first to admit that I am so afraid of hospital's. My life has been in Lee Trotter's hands so many times in the past three and half years that I as even more worried since he was not doing this surgery. Trust me when I say that if I could have made it to Spokane Washington, that is where I would have been in a heartbeat. Still I believe with all my heart that God put the right people in place to help ease my fears and to understand how much I have been through. Dr. DeMar was great, although quiet and the Dr. Pete helped me even more than I could ever write. He sure knows how to ease the pain. Thanks very much to both of you.
We have such a wonderful group of caregivers and people that care for this family that all of their needs were met while I was gone. Our church, Hilltop Community Church, provided much needed meals so that the children and Merrill could just stay focused on what they needed to do.
Amanda has become my right arm and she just helped beyond what anyone could have ever asked for so that Merrill could just keep on going to work, kids to school and the two at home well cared for.
A huge thank you to so many people, Shelley, Sean, Linda, Merna, Paula, Jenny, and probably others that I have forgotten or maybe even did not know about. It is because of ya'll that the family did so well. Love to each of you.
The good news is I am home, on the mend and looking forward to be back totally with my family. Right now I have lifting restrictions and that is hard, but we are doing it, one day at a time.
Here are a few pictures from the hospital and Miss. LisaMarie's scattered party.
All gather so LisaMarie could open her gifts.
