WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!!!



Boy howdy did we ever have a wonderful Christmas. Our family is blessed beyond measure with people that care about us and reach out to us. Merrill and I so firmly believe that God called us to the ministry of adopting His Special Children. We know that He has always provided for all of our needs and most of our wants. To God Be The Glory. Once again He came through for us. Christmas is a harder time for many and we are no exception. We plan for it, work towards that goal and then do the best we can. Still to provide Christmas for so many is hard no matter who you are. For many years we have had a Secret Santa. This year was no exception.


A wonderful group from Reno picked our family and the elves got to work. They asked for what each person wanted and also a list of things they needed. They worked tirelessly and then delivered more gifts than we could have ever imagined. It was wonderful. Everything was wrapped up so beautifully. Then on top of that, they bought grocery's. There was so much food that we had a hard time finding a place to put it all. It was so fun to watch the children as they eyed many things that I never buy. They can't wait for school to start again so they can take snack pudding packs.


Christmas morning came and the fun was about to begin. We all took turn opening our gifts and it was wonderful to see their joy with each and every package. Micah just had to get his head phones on and listen to the MP3 player. He was bouncing up and down on his ball. Joey just couldn't wait to get his train set put together and up and running. Mordachi wanted to play with it or wear it all at once. He just did not know which to do first. McClain was still so sock that he just really opened his gifts and then went back to sleep. We found out the next day that he actually had strep throat. Poor little guy. LisaMarie couldn't get a CD fast enough to listen to her boom box. She loves singing with the music.I think that Jericho and Joseph were just a bit overwhelmed with it all. They did enjoy their gifts and have played with them a lot over the past few days. Jesse and Jeremy were total teens. Almost too cool for all of this. However it was fun to see them in their flannel sleep pants at night, new jackets on as we have gone to town and shopping to spend their gift cards.


Merrill and I were also surprised with a nice gift card and then the children got together at church and made us scarves. How do you pick whose you are going to wear? So when we went out, I just did them all proud and wore them all. Everyone guessed what I had received for Christmas.

I remember many a Christmas when our family was blessed by the generosity of community giving. Our tree was never bare underneath, nor the table bare in spite of the meagor funds welfare checks provided my mom for her family. I am not too sure that it gets much better than this at this stage of life. I wanted to post this yesterday, but I just ran out of time. Merrill and I received a letter informing us that LisaMarie was in the second grade math Olympics at school. Now this in and of itself is a huge accomplishment. Only the top five students from each class were chosen. So Merrill took off and I got a babysitter for MacGyver. Off we went. Now I am a little sadden to say that we did not really expect much to happen. We felt it an honor that LisaMarie had made it this far. We got there a little early, got a good seat and sat back to enjoy the competition. Oh my, let me tell you we were on the edge of our seats after about three rounds. LisaMarie was faster than we even knew she could be. She was confident, poised and all together in control, not like her parents sitting out in the crowd. TOTALLY AMAZING NEWS

WOW, first of all, I am in shock with the email that I have received. It is unreal that someone even thinks this highly about this family. We see us as a mom and a dad to many children...that is true....but something this wonderful...well, I am not sure about that. Rather than try to explain it, here are excerpts from the email.... The nationwide famous and wealthy PEW Foundation contacted us at Sierra Association of Foster Families.. they asked us to give them info on a family in Nevada who has adopted children and who is AN OUTSTANDING ADOPTIVE FAMILY in our state.. JUNE 30, 1978

HAPPY 30th ANNIVERSARY!!!! How does one even begin to express the joy that I feel in my heart and soul for being blessed to have been married to the most wonderful man for 30 years? The bottom line, I can't Anything I write here is a feeble attempt to try to convey what is in my heart. My cup truly runneth over. My wishes, that both of my parents were alive to see this day. My daddy came close, my mom not so. They had their doubts about Merrill and in the end they both knew that he was all that I ever really needed and in him I could really have everything I ever dreamed of.
