At least that is what we would like to think :o) So, Mr. Montana has been home for three full days and nights. So far so good. The children still love him and trust me, that is a good thing. Every time he cries, Maverick offers him his binky. Please note that a binky solves all things for Maverick. MacGyver still wants to "pet" him and is willing to wash his hands so he can "pet" him. Joey still is talking himself through the fact that Montana needs love and clean hands to touch him. McClain is mostly concerned about the fact that he can only make out one nostril and really wants to make sure that the doctor will make his second one. McClain also proudly introduces Montana to his friends and tells them that before you meet him, he looks funny, but we love him. Face it, you have to love his down to earth manner.
LisaMarie is really into mothering him and really is trying to help whenever she can. Micah just keeps checking him out, Jericho and Joseph do not seem to know he is here and Mordachi is a great "watchdog" to make sure no one touches him when he has been asked to keep an eye on him for a minute. Jesse just has a ton of patience and does not even act like he hears him cry, which is often.
I think that the best over all comment came from none other than our funny comment guy, McClain. McClain told me that he could not wait to get to school because no one he knew had 17 boys in their family. I asked him if anyone he knew had 16 boys and he said, well no Mom, but no one has 17 boys either. Good point. So then I said well you also have two sisters, meaning there were actually 19 kids in this family of ours. McClain calmly looks at me and says..."Mom, a lot of kids have two sisters." Okay, I get it....I am a bit slow, but in its own way, that makes sense.
I am also having a bit of fun with the knowledge that very few people at the children's schools know we have a new baby. In the past everyone knew it before the child arrived home. This time we are just enjoying having a bit of a surprise as they see him.
Again, thanks for all the support we have felt here and in person and in emails. Here are a few more pictures to enjoy. Hugs to all.
